What I want to tell people is that spiritual is easy. Yes I can find the divine in the everyday world. There's not a lot to challenge me in that. Not a lot of real and lasting spiritual growth either. Religion is hard. Opening up to others in community, finding the divine in them, being vulnerable and allowing them to maybe find the divine spark in you, that's not an easy thing. It means struggling through bad times and disappointments and wondering where God is sometimes. But in the long run it means growing into deeper understanding of the divine mystery and our place in it.
